Default IFoA or SOA

Hi there,

I'm studying for FM in Feb, did P in Jan. I originally tried P for fun, to see how far I'd get, but my success has egged me on to see how far I can get with these exams. However, I am British, and in the UK the IFoA is a completely separate exam body.

I found that ADAPT is the key to me passing these exams, however. There doesn't seem to be an equivalent for IFoA exams (if you know one, please let me know!)

So I'd rather take US exams that I know I'll pass rather than take the risk of failing these UK exams just because there isn't an ADAPT-type exam question engine.

This might be shooting myself in the leg. What do you guys think? Here are the pros and cons:

Pros (of taking US over UK):
I'm sure of passing, if using ADAPT
More resources to study
US qualifications are surely recognised the world over to some extent?
Cheaper than UK exams
Can get 1 for 1 exemptions from UK exams
Can get jobs in other countries (possibly Japan or even Singapore, I live in Japan now, and am willing to go anywhere that'll take me - in the world)

Some companies advertise jobs with NO exemptions (UK)
May have to take exams again (expensive, although the material will be quicker the second time around)

Another thing to take into account is that I've been in Japan teaching English for the last 7 years. Bit of a CV/resume killer!
