Keep hope alive.

Or learn to actually ignore people.

I've found some code that blocks users on an ignore list from replying to your thread. That might give me a good starting point to get this working the way we want it.

I've sent several requests to the vBulletin developers to fix this, but they don't seem to understand the problem. They think it works perfectly, and we're just crazy for wanting anything different.
Tom, I've seen other vBulletin forums where this is done without any problem. You ignore a user, you don't see them at all - not that they responded, not their avatar, ... nothing. I don't know if it's a matter of updating the version of vBulletin you're running, bringing in a hack for vBulletin, or going in and making the changes yourself, but this has been available for 3+ years now.

Making the same changes here cannot be that difficult to do.

I forget who said that.

I can search vBulletin forums and find a hack to hide the posts of posters you have on ignore - even when someone else quotes them. I can also find hacks for making ignored users disappear from sight [though that hasn't been written in vB 4.x ... or if it has, no one has announced it - but generally, that can be done using a prior version [which exists] as the starting point and adapting to the new version of vB as required].

No, I don't have to do it here - but in a past life, I did some of this stuff elsewhere. It's not that difficult to do ... provided one acutally puts forth the effort.

Have you emailed Tom with the offer (to find/send him sample code)? He may not check this subforum that often, since it doesn't get significant activity.

I would have done what you suggest long ago, if I were more code-savvy.

Based on experience, he doesn't check much of anything.
