Like, I don't think CEH was the best RB in the 2020 draft, but he at least made sense as the best fit for KC, a team whose holes (secondary, linebacker, OL depth) were addressed a little bit later in the draft (though those are still likely to be weaknesses).

OTOH, referring to the Michel pick, Belichick is one of the best, if not the best, HC/GMs in the history of the game, but man has he wasted so many draft picks over the years.

CEH is a solid back, him and Damien Williams will be a solid rotation. Williams is underrated, he should have been super bowl MVP IMO

Nah, that was a deserved MVP to Mahomes.

Williams is absolutely solid, and I was fine if he was the main RB in 2020, but he does have durability issues and has some limitations as a route runner and in finding the initial cutback.

CEH is a perfect match for what KC does, and I'm not sure there was another team I can say that for, but the problem is using a 1st rounder when there are defensive holes to fill, and an aging OL that will need replacements at right guard (definitely) and left tackle (probably) in the next few years.

Of course, Mahomes is happy, and that's very important right now, ha.

NFL owners vote against kick-off alternative.
That's too bad.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/n...ange-proposal/

This article suggests that there are too few great QBs, thus the teams with the less stellar QBs would be at a disadvantage. More so.

I don't think there should be any restrictions if the proposal became a rule. The downside to this is that the better team would have an even better chance to win, since they will be able either to come from behind, or make lead unattainable, or worse, force the oppositions defense to stay on the field for three straight TD drives. They'd eventually kick off when their offense needs a rest.
The kickoff is an equalizer, which owners love, being communists.

To be sure, that come back was definitely a team effort; it wasn't "all" Mahomes . . . but in that situation, if the QB isn't executing well, the other players don't stand a chance to make the plays they do. So I'm fine with the QB being the "designated" recipient of the award (for this situation).

Wiki has some interesting numbers on distribution by position.

30/55* awards are QB. Only 10 have gone to defensive players. I just wonder how many of those QB awards should've really gone to a defensive player given that defense is far more "team" directed in its execution (individual leadership isn't nearly as easily seen as it is for the offense).

*One year had two MVP's named; both were defensive players.

So MVP should have really gone to positions that have less value?

There have definitely been some MVP awards given to game manager type QBs who did absolutely nothing special outside of 'don't screw up.'

I think it was the knee injury from college that hurt him.
