There is a show on the Science channel where they do a bunch of mind-trickery. They do the darker color thing, and a paralell line one.

My favorite is the film a girl saying a word over and over but they dub in the audio of her saying somthing else. You swear she is saying what you "see" until you close your eyes and only hear.

I absolutely cannot see the cat spinning any direction other than clockwise. I've seen the spinning girl though, that one works much better.
