Good for MLS (or their teams), as they get to reap the transfer fees of the top-notch Americans, who we hope exist, in demand at Euro clubs for the top dollar.

My local MLS club is dropping their U13 and U14 academy teams because they cost too much (although they are only 1 of 2 clubs that charge for academy) and don't think there is a benefit.

Here in SoCal, where we have two MLS teams, the majority of the DA have gone over to ECNL. (girls teams were stronger in ECNL than DA anyway). It should make for interesting high school season as DA players were not allowed to play on their high school teams.

If sports ever start up again, that is. Current high school junior looking to play college in any sport are going to have a more difficult time with their sport not being played. Especially the spring sports that just got cancelled.

If Michael Bradley is involved I will not watch. He was “the leader” on a team that failed to qualify when he was in his prime. I would much rather try to qualify w others in midfield. If he plays and US misses, I’m done.

That article did not fill me with hope. We still don't have a midfield that can compete with the big boys. I don't recall the last time our midfield, on paper or on the pitch, has been better than the big boys.

Bradley was important, back when he was younger and no one knew what he did. Now, not even Bradley himself can be the Bradley that was valuable, because age.

Some light quarantine reading. Each USYNT cohort's best prospect from the past 25 years.
