How did he suddenly jump from 60 to 100? Something alphazero-like must have happened.

Yes, important word in my post was "on pace". Was a ridic thing to watch him but he slowed down after minute 6.

Heard a podcast once about his training and how he managed to crush the record (66 in 2007, where the winner ate 44-54 in 2001-2006 and less than 30 before 2001). Just such a weird thing to work so hard to be an expert at.

I saw something on ESPN billed as The Ocho: it was called Slippery Stairs, kinda like MXC but less intense.
