Nice analysis here on Packers making up stories about their draft:

The general consensus is the packers were targeting brandon aiyuk but 49ers picked him the spot before them. Not sure why this guy thinks not drafting a WR in the 7th round means you didn't want one in the first.

Packers have a lot of decent (relative to their draft position) later rounds talent at WR. No reason to add a late round WR to cut them in the preseason.

Denver HC Fangio says there's no racism in the NFL

He might be right, in the locker room (jackass bullies aside).

But there is definitely some racism at the GM and owner level, the ones who hire coaches. The ones who fire black coaches a lot faster than white coaches, the ones that rehire fired white coaches faster than fired black coaches.

He's since walked that statement back.

But there seems to be some truth to his statement:

Eh....

I definitely think teams make bad personnel moves for non-play reasons that hurt their on-field product.

If merit were the only force behind decisions, Colin would be a backup for Russell Wilson or Lamar.

Or if all 32 teams were forced to compete (instead of wink wink tanking), he'd be starting.

Both Brees and Fangio apologies seem fake to me. I think both guys believe what they initially said, and walked it back only when faced with public and player outcry.
