I do generally recommend trying to walk toward your target as much as possible, be it the 10 pin or even the strike ball. Of course, everybody is different, but that approach seems to work best for me. It allows my arm swing to be the most free.

Cohete - a sport league in the summer? You really ARE a glutton for punishment.

Summer sport shot league? Sounds like you are going to a shooting range.

In the fall will you be doing a sporting pins league? or the duckhunt league?

Yep, that is all I know about bowling, I do have my own ball sitting in my closet, maybe I'll dust it off one of these days.

Yes, its only an 8 week league, Tuesday nites starting tomorrow.

Two different oil patterns, first 4 weeks are a short pattern, the last 4 are long pattern.

$1000 first place prize, last year finished 5th. Step ladder format the last week.

Learned a lot last year, hope to improve and learn some more this time

I suppose as long as you go into it as a learning experience and don't let it bruise your ego too bad, it wouldn't be a bad thing. I just don't bowl nearly often enough anymore to even try a sport shot. Until I can bowl more than my once a week, I'm going to be happy just averaging 215-220 on "league" lanes. It's just a pastime to me these days.

Way to go. Keep it going.

For the bowling illiterate, that would be no opens in all 10 frames of one game

The most amazing game I ever saw was an all spare game. A bunch of them were 3 and 4 pin leaves. The woman who threw it had maybe a 120 average and was very pregnant.

cohete-I had a frame in that 207 game where I left it open, and only scored a 6. That's what I meant.

I throw the straight ball, no hook. So I was grooving them.

I hear ya

The only problem have had lately, is if have to bowl two consecutive days. By the 2nd day, the knee gets sore, from all the sliding and extra pressure.

Other than that, could bowl every day, cuz it is fun and relaxing.

went today...started off great...
started out with 5 strikes, then a spare, then a strike...7 clean frames...awesome score...heading towards my first clean game ever and maybe passing my previous high (and only 200 game) of 202...
then it went to hell...

three open frames to end (all spares I should have picked up)...and ended with a 201.

still happy about hitting 200, but given how it started, it was a little bit disheartening...
