Default Has anyone taken cruises across the pacific from California to Japan/Philippines etc?

What was it like?
What was the price?
How many days?
Was it a round trip?
Were the on-boarding security screening comparable to an airport?
What about the wifi? Any good? What kind of speed can you get?

That route goes through a lot of time changes, but at least you can take comfort knowing that it's 5:00, somewhere

Does a bender have something to do with a banana? If so, I'm in!

I've done CA to Hawaii, but not beyond that.

What was it like? LA to Hawaii is 5 full days at sea... it is quite some time but you have to stay busy. They have sea day activities and entertainment, although the "free" options seem to be less and less. So probably double that or more to get to Asia. They will likely make stops - for example, I've seen some that go Japan, Russia, cross Berring to Alaska, then down to Vancouver, BC and maybe onto California

What was the price? I've seen Japan to Vancouver in the $1200 range

How many days? at least 2 weeks

Was it a round trip? Definitely not - this would be repositioning the ship from Asia to Alaska (summer) or vice versa. The LA to Hawaii was round trip.

Were the on-boarding security screening comparable to an airport? Yes, you will always go thru bag scans and metal detectors every time you come back on the ship. Not only are they looking for weapons, but also Alcohol (they don't want you bringing on your own because they make big bucks from this)

I don't know if I'd do that Hawaii cruise again. I loved my 4 days on Hawaii https://thehotflashpacker.com/hawaii/ but 10 days at sea to and fro was too much!
