I suggest we recommend the SOA to pass anyone who failed with a 5 in the October session.

I think it is fair, I think if someone failed with a 5 and they are redoing the same exam in the following setting most likely they will pass it

You can always dream, but it's not going to happen. Getting a 5 in the prior sitting never guarantees passing the next sitting. Plenty of people get a 5 in one sitting and then a lower score in the next sitting.

You're not alone. We're all bogged down.

I emailed customerservice@soa.org and requested that they cancel the Spring 2020 exams. I gave my reasons, and requested that they do this soon so that students can focus on their hectic personal lives.

Please do the same!

The SOA bet hedging is getting ridiculous. There aren't going to be any places open to sit the exams or have a grading party. Might as well cancel all Spring exams and push back all the transition dates by 6 months. Plus those in health are going to have a lot extra work to do over the next 6 months what with the impacts to reserving, pricing, trend development, etc. On the upside, this is once in a lifetime (hopefully) event.

Just did the same. Basically said they should cancel exams due to 1) health concerns, 2) potential issues that would arise from a last-second cancellation with employer study programs, and 3) giving students the chance to focus on work/family/everyday life during a pandemic.

We'll see. They really do need to take action sooner rather than later.
