I thought, what vegetables immediately come to mind? Which vegetables are usually pictured in a random illustration of "vegetables". And honestly, the top of that list is "tomato", but because people always talk about whether it's actually fruit, I ruled it out. Then came carrots and onions. But carrots feel more "normal" than onions. You might eat a plate of carrots in a way you wouldn't eat a plate of onions.

Yeah, I probably gave that more thought than it deserved.
