Default what software for hosting an on-line party?

I'm thinking of hosting an on-line party to replace an event that will be cancelled due to the pandemic.

I thought I might have some short "welcome" and group activity stuf for everyone, followed by "break-out sessions" where small groups of people can socialize. I'm leaning towards discord, because (I think) it will allow multiple choice channels that people can self-select to move in and out of. But I'm not sure whether it supports video conferencing in those channels, nor what limitations I might run into.

The event would normally have about 80 participants, out of a few hundred invited. I have no idea whether I'd get fewer people because it's only virtual, or more, because no one has anything else to do. (And no need to travel )

Any suggestions, advice, etc.?

I attended a demo for a company Seemed to work pretty well (although they talked about issues with old versions of the OS).

It is intended for conferences, etc, but it has features which seem similar to what you describe. It has reasonable monthly fees for the numbers you describe, but I'm not sure if there is a longer term commitment.
