Know people who have worked in a nursing home. Said porn was a big addiction among he old male residents and many of them were like that.

He could have been 80something.

Don't lump in centenarians with all other old people. Their aging is not like everybody else's. Don't look at a sickly 85 year old in a nursing home and think that being 100 has to be worse than that.

That 85 year old won't live to see 100, and when the 100-year-old was 90 they were in far better shape than the 85 year old in the nursing home. If you live to 100, it very likely means you didn't have debilitating health problems in your 70s through early 90s.

probably why the dementia ward of nursing homes saw a huge amount of COVID deaths. people with dementia don't understand social distancing.

Reminds me of one of those old Sophie Tucker jokes Bette Midler used to do in her act.

The eighty year old husband bragged that he had a twenty year old girlfriend. The wife said that when she turns eighty she would get a twenty year old boyfriend - And let me tell you, twenty goes into eighty a hell of a lot more times than eighty goes into twenty!

Well, two grandsons of the tenth US president are alive today, because he had a son when in his late 60s or 70s who went on to do the same thing.

44 year old? There are a number of 44 year olds who get pregnant, but yes it's rarer. IIRC the record for natural pregnancy is 57.
There have been a lot of 40something pregnancies in my family, and all before IVF.
It's on average unlikely for a woman that age to get pregnant, but not so rare that it's most likely artificial I'd guess.

Yeah, I think this is mostly true. My grandmother died about a month before her 100th birthday. She had pretty serious dementia at the end, but up until a few months before she died her physical health was pretty good, and she was enjoying a lot of what she did at the nursing home. And at 92 she was still living independently and doing fun stuff and taking care of her affairs with a little help from her daughters.

I don't think there are that many people who drag on with horrible health into their 90s.

I had read somewhere that the average 90 year old is in better shape than the average 80 year old, because modern medicine can get the vast majority of people to 80, but if you make it to 90, you were far healthier to begin with.

That was something I read years ago, so not sure quite where the line would be now, but I know a few people in their early-mid 80s who 30 years ago I would have been surprised if you told me they'd last this long. And they are making full use of medical interventions.

My sister's nursing home roommate is 102. Her 70 year old son could pass for 50.

Unlikely things happen on occasion.

If I were a gambler Id probably put some money on something else going on behind the scenes. I would accept that I might lose that bet though.

Let's distinguish between a pregnancy and a FIRST pregnancy. Lots of women over 40 become pregnant and have children, but most of those women had their first pregnancies in their 20s. The probability of getting pregnant for the first time without artificial help drops rather rapidly after 35 or so.

I do agree that the interesting question here involves the man, not the woman.
