Wait, are they still intending on doing groups of {6, 4, 4, 4, 4, 3}? How does that work? Why didn't they immediately move over a team from Group A when Dallas was withdrawn?

I'm assuming that we will hear today that Nashville is out and Chicago will move out of Group A take the place of Dallas. Chicago makes the most sense to move since their first game was supposed to be against Nashville and was postponed.

If you were to believe the @MLSCovidCup twitter account (supposedly ran by a player(s) inside the bubble) the other teams want Nashville out.

Also the tournament will be without the 2019 MVP (Vela) and the 2019 defender of the year (Opara).

Well, if they did that, I would assume they'd move Chicago to the West for the rest of the season. Especially since Seattle has already played Chicago once this season.

Suffice to say, the end of the season standings are going to be weird, assuming there is an end of the season. Teams will have played other teams from the same conference once or twice and a smattering of games against teams from the other conference, and the mix will be different team by team.

The CovidCup guy says that 9 Nashville players have tested positive. Not sure he's reliable though.

Officially 5 have tested positive, and 4 are awaiting results.

Per Paul Tenorio: "Nashville SC went to airport despite having fewer than half of follow-up tests back, per source. Players sat on buses for 1.5 hrs (without knowing if anyone tested positive) before being sent home. Havenít trained in 3 days and inside 7-day window before first game."

If they get clean follow up results they will reportedly fly to Orlando tomorrow. What a cluster though to send everyone to the airport, have them wait on buses, and send them home.
I'm wondering how much of Nashville's outbreak should be blamed on whoever loaded up the buses before test results were back and had players sitting on them for an extended period of time. Just moronic.

COVID guy had it right: pregame showing 9 Nashville teams testing positive. Pull Nashville, 6 groups of 4.
