OK, only three more draws and LIV can choke it away again.
538 has LIV projected as winning, but apparently on decimal points, since the rounded points are even and MCI have a huge lead in goal differential. 50-47 in probability, with 2% to Chelsea and 1% for the field.

Have the points always been uniform across place? Like if you correctly predict who comes in first that should be worth more than correctly predicting who comes in 10th, no?

I do know that if you're leading the contest, you don't get to complain about how the contest is set up.

But, to answer your question, no.
It's about who's the most accurate all the way down the table.

IMO we should be squaring the differences, but I don't think it would change too much.

Arguably you listen more if I'm nearer the top than if I'm moaning about the rules while near the bottom?

I guess it's just a different sort of competition if the points are worth different amounts, and maybe it's just because Arsenal is typically such a fantastic team that I'm normally so focused on top 6 or so, but calling Liv or MC as top, or the ordering of the top 6, seems such a bigger deal than, say, the ordering of the bottom 10.

I count...... one.

Maybe before next year's contest, you can suggest a modification of the point system.
I'm trying to think of some way to do this....
OK, Players get (20-|actual-predicted|)*(actual's place factor) points for each team? So, most points would win (as opposed to the current system).
The place factors would have to be agreed to by the competition subcommittee, which does not yet exist.
