Default Good night, Sheep

It's been almost six years since I last ran a sheep game, so let's give it another go.

I will follow vividox' original rules...for the most part:

Not a lot of points for creativity in this game. Points are determined by how many people answered the same as you. For instance, if 7 people answer the same on the first question, each of them gets 7 points for that question. The winner is the person with the most points after all 20 questions. There should be no conspiring with anyone else, and one submission per person (no alts) please. There is no limit to number of people who can play, just have your answers in before [the deadline for submissions]
As you'll see, questions 1-5 are fact-based, and your score for that question will include a bonus if you are correct. The bonus will be =ROUND(k*(n-k)/n,0) where k=number of correct answers & n=total number of answers. Also, for the first five questions only, no external resources are allowed. Think about it...with your mind! Further, you must choose your answers for questions 1-5 before using any external resources for any question, so just answer questions 1-5 and then move on to 6-20.
Yes, you may use external resources for questions 6-10 (and 11-20).

PM your answers to me by Thursday, 07:59:59 AM, January 9, 2020.
Sheep points only.
Reveal show is going to be a little different than in previous games. I will post the results of one question per day. I intend to post the results of question 1 on Thursday evening, January 9, 2020.
As always, I reserve the right to make up the rules as we go along.
All decisions are final unless I change my mind.

Here are the questions:

1 How many states of the United States of America border Mexico? (No google; Bonus for correct answer)
2 How many states of Mexico border the United States of America? (No google; Bonus for correct answer)
3 How many states of the United States of America border Canada (land or water border)? (No google; Bonus for correct answer)
4 How many territories and provinces of Canada border the United States of America (land or water border)? (No google; Bonus for correct answer)
5 How many countries are in South America (countries only; do not include

dependent territories)? (No google; Bonus for correct answer)
6 Name a state of the United States of America that borders Mexico.
7 Name a state of Mexico that borders the United States of America.
8 Name a state of the United States of America that borders Canada.
9 Name a territory or province of Canada that borders the United States of America.
10 Name a country in South America.
11 Name a Dog's name
12 Name a Cat's name
13 Name a Color of the rainbow
14 Something people say when they hear bad news
15 Something you give a kid for doing a good job
16 Name a Track and field sport
17 Name a Vegetable
18 Name a Fruit
19 Name an Animal in the zoo
20 Pick a phone number; add up the digits; add up the digits of the resulting number; continue until you are left with a one digit number; what is that number? (E.g., my phone number is
(763) 569-8000. 7+6+3+5+6+9+8+0+0+0=44 => 4+4 = 8, so my answer is 8.)
21 Would you like a PM notice each night a question's results are posted? (No points available)

PM your answers to me. Kindly use this as a template for your submission, entering your response after the semicolon:

Sounds like fun.. Suggested rules clarifications: you must choose your answers for questions 1-5 before using any external resources for any question.

Yes, it is fun.
Yes, that is my intent for Qs 1-5 & 6-20. I will add your clarification to the rules.

Point of clarification -- if a lake separates US & Canada, that still counts as bordering even if land never touches.

Now you tell me!

I treated that waters are owned by their respective countries and not any particular state/province.
