We couldn't hold off on trades until the trade deadline and we're doing the same thing for the draft. Let's have a little respect for the times/dates I'm throwing out there. They're not arbitrary, they're to keep things running smoothly.

Or someone else can take over as commissioner.

Now let's have some fun drafting!

I suggest subscribing to the draft thread, and turning e-mail notifications on.
Well said. We really try to keep it moving 9-5 but hope the west coasters check in a little early and the east coasters stick around a little late.

Proxies are also a good move. If you have a pick coming up in 3 spots and can't (or don't want to) check in repeatedly to see if the guy in front of you drafted, you can send someone a PM with who you want (3 spots, do a list of three) so they can post for you.

Mr. F....My proxy game has gotten better over years, but we are all pretty chill on drafing and understand that things can happen.

yt is often available to proxy. If I'm 5 picks away and know I'll be in meeting the entire afternoon (or on a plane), I'll send 5 guys to someone that picks after me for the proxy.

There have been many times where I'll have a proxy out...come back 4 hours later and only 2 picks have been made.

As one of those new guys I echo this rant and feel as though the only fair thing would be for me to get Acuna instead.

We should add that, while we are usually not too crazy about pushing the draft along quickly, we do need to get through roughly a round per day. And having some slack built in for the random emergency time offline is nice.

Also, communication is helpful. If you're going to be unavailable for large stretches of time, letting the group know what to expect (timing, proxy options, etc) is helpful.

Cool. Thanks everyone.

I'm Mountain Time, so wanted to make sure I knew when to be around since I know a lot of you are east coasters. I'll be flying on Thursday afternoon to watch my brother play college ball on Friday, so I'll make sure to keep an eye on things and proxy as necessary.

not everyone has a smart phone, but when home I do keep the AO open and refresh at whatever interval I think need to when it becomes close to my pick.
