Note that I said "community managed blockchain currencies".

Same as TCP/IP, sooner or later the question of how and when community management should be overridden by a government comes into play.

I believe that blockchain technology and not Bitcoin is the true revolutionary part of the Bitcoin Revolution. Time will tell, but I bet we are suing some form of blockchain technology for significant applications long after we have forgotten that Bitcoin even existed.

That said though I listened to a very interesting EconTalk podcast about people in Venezuela mining Bitcoins to get around the food crisis they are currently going through. Basically electricity is free in Venezuela so enterprising folks are setting up Bitcoin mining operations and using the Bitcoins to buy rice and beans in bulk in Miami and have it shipped to their homes in Venezuela.

The rise of Crypto Bitcoin, LTC, Ether, Dash, Monero
The founder creates new crypto and it's hyped up secretly in forums and tech sites where he invests his money/time to revolutionize how payments are processed and going off a fiat system and then over time when its semi big performs an ICO and heads swoop in most not knowing what it really IS or DOES but the chart looks good so they borrow or invest savings and it skyrockets.
