If you're a member of the SOA, the recordings of the major meetings are now free. That includes the SOA Annual Meeting.

If you're a member of the Retirement Section, you can get access to all their webcasts (for free) that are over a year old.

Yes, join the retirement section, I assume they will take your money.

There's at least 10 webcasts that give you 1.8 hours each that you can watch for free, just take notes and submit a summary to the SOA. That gets you a lot of the way there.

They weren't easy to find. I watched several of them last week and there was a lot of hunting around. I'll post something here later if I can help people find it.

You still need in person credits, it sounds like you might have that covered with the ASPPA meeting.

You also need core credits, a few of the pension section webcasts will cover those. I'd bet the SOA annual meeting does too (ethics credits), thanks MPC!

After that I'll fill in any holes (most likely core credits) from Actex probably.

Remember, if you don't get everything you need by December 31 (like the in person credits), when you do get the credits you can get reinstated any time in the next three years. I'm sure it's a pain in the butt, but at least it's possible if you need to wait until a spring meeting next year to finish.

The best way to find the webcasts that the Retirement Section sponsors - IF you're a member of the section - is to go to the My SOA site:
https://www.soa.org/mysoa/communities/

[You'll have to log in with your SOA Account]

I'm not a member of the retirement section, but I'll show you what mine looks like:
Spoiler:

Click on that "Members Only Site", which will take you to a page with all the free webinars for that section.

I clicked on the one for Financial Reporting - I am showing only the first few. They have webinars going back to July 2016 for this section.

The SOA also has a spreadsheet major meeting sessions 2016 - 2018. They update this spreadsheet at the beginning of each year.

The spreadsheet is here:

THANK you!!! That will save me so much $$. It's a big expense and last time I thought I'd probably be back at work now. But I like to play I just signed up for an ACTEX to get most of the ethics training. Are there other courses at ACTEX that count for core? Most I saw were non-core. Thanks again for all the info.

It's not easy to find core credits.

If you look at the spreadsheet Campbell provided, several of the sessions at recent meetings offered Core credit, I'm not entirely sure how to get get EA credit through those.

At least two of the free sessions from the pension section are Core, one on ethics and one on IRS mortality rules.

Everyday Ethics for Actuaries - https://www.actexmadriver.com/product.aspx?id=453143404

Ethical Leadership for Professionals - https://www.actexmadriver.com/product.aspx?id=453141101

The Power of Ethics for Professionals - https://www.actexmadriver.com/product.aspx?id=453141096

Course for Professional Development: Being An Actuary Beyond the Mathematics - https://www.actexmadriver.com/product.aspx?id=453086563

Hope that's helpful!
