I can easily imagine the following:
"Call an ambulance!!"
"No, that's too expensive. Call an Uber!!"

Issues with sterile fields and such. But, you get what you pay for. Uber can also charge for any blood cleanup.

Anyhow, I will be there (presenting at session 71 Tuesday and 127 "the suitcase session" Wednesday). Looking forward to catching up with friends old and new.
Sounds like my scenario but more restricted.

I could also see contracts with ridesharing platforms for Medicare patients to enhance capture rates for risk adjustment. I'm not sure it's cheaper than some of the home visit vendors but it might become more competitive depending on hospitalist/provider contracts.

I've done some gigs where this population took advantage of the free ride to get their Opioid shots. They'd take an uber to a clinic, sometimes 100 miles away, and goto the beach, visit a friend, etc. They'd do this on days when their local clinic was closed.

Radiology (like open MRI) clinics are also known for calling an uber to get you into their clinic to take a picture. They pay for it, however I've noticed that the costs of the scan well compensate for the ride. Plus, open MRI's are usually "old" tech for scans.

I can see taking an uber from a little league game cause the kid broke his arm. This'd be pretty safe and cost effective.

there's an OPTUM event on Monday night. those are usually fun. it's an official SOA thing, so it should be on the agenda.

Yeah. I don't do well with forced mingling, so I probably won't be there. I meant more...AO peeps smoking cigars, etc. (or whatever was suggested previously ITT).

They have an outdoor patio, but still lots of smokers (plus it's hot hot hot out). I'd say Mellow mushroom, Growler, or Modern Margarita are best bets for bar without smokers.

Just had dinner at Barrio Queen (shopping mall, there’s a hotel shuttle). Delicious vegetarian enchilada (“The Queen”) and really fun band playing tonight.
