Default Do you include your credentials in your email signature?

For your internal work emails, do you put ASA/FSA/ACAS/FCAS/MAAA/CERA/(insert your favorite letters here) after your name? If you don't, why not?

Old company required them for all credentialed actuaries. I think the rationale was that any work related email technically fell under the “actuarial communication” umbrella, so credentials went to the signature for everything as a CYA thing.

Current company is a mixed bag. Some people include them, some don’t. I personally include them for the aforementioned CYA reasons, but I’m not sure if they’re actually necessary.

Same here. I include my credentials, but don't include my degree (MSc), whereas a lot of folks in my company do. I think it's a healthcare thing, I work with a lot of nurses who include their degrees (BSN, MSN), and the MPH/MBA folks often do it as well.

1. I don't.

2. Because I don't consider it necessary.

EDIT -- But, I don't put all of my actuarial ones, just FCAS; and I do put some of my non-actuarial ones (CPA, CFA) but not all of those either (CPCU and a bunch of little ones by the Institutes).

I got an "ASA" tramp stamp. Now that I'm not an actuarial anymore, I just think of it as a typo.
