Off topic here, but this is as good a place as any....Looking to take this exam in the fall, is the exam expected to be late October? Since TIA has a 6 month shelf life, I don't want to get it too early (May 1 sign up make sense?). Also, SOA site says you must register for parts C and A, which count for the whole exam...can someone confirm we must register for both individually, I don't see an option to just sign up for the whole thing. Thanks!

If we're taking both segments of Exam DP (A + C), do we just register for them separately? Then I assume we'll be able to elect to take both segments as the same test center?

FSA exam newbie question, I know... Thanks!

DP is on Tuesday, Oct 27 this fall, with segment A in the morning and segment C in the afternoon.

Email me directly in April (derek@theinfiniteactuary.com), and we can offer you access a little bit early and that will take you through the exam date in the Fall.

It's been a while since I've actually registered for exams, but looking at the website, it looks like you do indeed have to register for the DP-C and DP-A portions separately. (This is because there are some transition candidates with pieces of credit for the old Core and Advanced exams, but that won't affect you if you're new, and you MUST register for both of them - you have to pass them both in aggregate to pass DP.)

Same question. I honestly can't believe the SOA and Prometric have the bandwidth to link on the back end. I pretended to register for this spring sitting and it seems like you could pick different exam centers pretty easily....

I think the SOA allows you to register each segment at different sites; it's just a bad idea for the majority of candidates.

There was a conference during the last exam season so I actually know of people that took the first day of a sitting at the city the conference was in and then the other half at home. For us non-transitional students it obviously makes no sense though
