Into the 4th week of my sport shot league tomorrow.

And last week of the short pattern. YES!

It is such a tough pattern, only 1 out of 35 200+ bowlers are averaging over 200 through 3 weeks.

Spare shooting is so key, and fortunately have been able to make most of the single pin spares. Multi-pin conversions, on a sport shot, are scary.

Have been attacking the lanes up the 2-3 board, straight up the outside. You cannot swing the ball out, out of bounds if you get too wide, and once you pull the ball in, it will cross over and you will be lucky to keep the ball on the lane.

Position round this week, hope that moved into top 10 after decent performance last week. Need to get into contention for $$ at end of year.

Long pattern begins next week for 4 weeks.

Interesting. It's been a LOT of years since I played a shot that far outside. Back in the day, I had that kind of accuracy. Nowadays, that gutter looks a whole lot bigger.

Went "cosmic" bowling for the first time the other night with some friends. First time I think I've ever bowled with the lights off. Shocked myself by shooting 680 without even trying.

It was tough at first, but shot 630 Tuesday nite, my best ever on that pattern. This type of bowling is really fun, since you do get rewarded for good shots, and punished for bad ones. It really makes you humble, but rewarded for skill and accuracy.

Gotta love that type of bowling too, especially when alcohol is involved

Music blaring and strobe lights all over, that is always fun to do every once in a while. Good times.

made some adjustments to my approach (long steps) to get closer to the line without changing (or feeling like it changed) my arm swing....starting closer felt weird

am now able to stay under the ball and get a lot more revolutions and movement.

league play was slightly less than my previous league average, but staying afterwards and making the adjustments I bowled 215, 183, 191

I'll repost my question about clean games in here as well as in the 'high score' thread...

Clean frames 1-9, and a spare and a 9 in the 10th...clean game, or no? I would think no, but wanted to check. If not, then I came up one pin short of my first clean game...and on the last toss no less

the only definition I could find was "a game with a strike or spare in each frame"

technically I did that, so I thought maybe, just maybe it was a clean game...but I figured, knowing my luck it wasn't

I should be testing it out this weekend
4/13 I bought the ball, so if that was a clean game, then in less than 2 months I've reached the two goals I set for myself
1. bowl a 200+ game
2. bowl a clean game

new goal - bowl a 600+ series

edit - any other reasonable goals I should set for myself? my new goal is basically trying to get #1 consistently, so I guess I could say trying to consistently get #2 as well...but I'm open to other suggestions. You guys know better than me about bowling progress

30 clean. Then you know you are doing something right.

Yes. Sure it will take a while. But when you do it, boy, does it feel good to accomplish that.
