It sounds like a copied thread increased your post count, however, sometimes counters on the site are recalculated and updated via a cron job that runs every few weeks.

Just My Opinion (Although this statement is my opinion, and I am an actuary, it's still not a statement of actuarial opinion, and you really shouldn't rely on it.)

cron is a unix command that one uses to schedule an executable to run at some future designated time.
