Default The Train Job NOW!!! RPG

Well, I submitted my Firefly RPG to the makers of ACTION Castle to see if they'd publish it, and they said they liked the concept, but want me to rework it entirely, and have given me only the weekend to do it. If you read the previous thread, a lot of this may give you deja vu. That's what happens, I'm afraid. Now I know how Joss Whedon and Tim Menear must have felt.

Srsly though, this thread is for the second running of the Firefly RPG written by me. It will run in the diversions forum. A list of participants is in the second post of this thread, and I'd like to ask each person to verify they're still planning on playing and have not read the first run by posting "In" (or whatever) in this thread.

This game is scheduled to start Monday morning, June 9.

What type of game is this? you ask. Check out past games:

ACTION Castle! (modded by Anthemyst)
ACTION Caste II! (modded by Anthemyst)
Spooky Manor (modded by Browncoat)

This time, rather than going "in order", we will play in rounds in which each player will have the opportunity to take three consecutive actions (or non-consecutive as may occasionally happen due to meetings or parser delay) in whatever order people play in. When someone has posted their third acion, anyone who has not yet had a turn that round may go. Once everyone has gone, the next round will start. (You'll get the hang of it.)

"Teleporting" rules are in effect, as are anti-talking overboard rules. "Teleporting" refers to the ability to travel instantaneously to a previously visited area, without having to use more than one action to go there. "Anti-Talking Overboard" rules restrict players from discussing strategy, hints, interpretations, etc in this thread or in any other manner.

Tips on playing an RPG.
  • Actions should be simple. Usually just a few words is enough. "Take ray gun" or "Club baby seal".
  • Movement is performed by just typing where you want to go. "North" or "Enter Bar".
  • New areas should always be searched. "Look around room" is a good start.
  • Details are important. If something is mentioned, there's usually a reason. Some things have to be examined to fully know everything there is to know about them.
  • ">There are some books here"
  • "Examine Books"
  • ">One of them tells you which plant you need to counteract lycanthrope"
  • Of course, some things may be red herrings, too.
  • The old adage: "If it's not nailed down, pick it up," is a good one.
